Thursday night was a great night on the football field for the flag football players. Two teams, Red Rum and Chi Breaker, battled it out to the end. The teams were going to play up to 5 scored goals, and had to win by two. Red Rum scored their 5th goal and Chi Breaker had 4. Red Rum lost the ball after their next possession and gave it back to Chi Breaker, where they scored the 5th goal to tie the game. Red Rum took over on their next posession and scored again, followed soon by the game winning 7th goal. Congratulations to the winning team, Red Rum. Over 60 SXU students came out for the Intramural Bowling night at Brunswick Zone on Wednesday night. Students took a break from studying and final homework assignments and had a great time with friends. Many students used the shuttle service that was offered to bring students from campus to the bowling alley. Over 30 students won raffle prizes which included Intramural Champion t-shirts, movie tickets, free bowl passes, and Gilhooley's gift cards. Thanks to everyone for coming! We hope you had fun!
The fourth week was a competetive week again for the Volleyball League. Dig, Set, Save Your Soul came out ready this week and beat team Nameless 2 to 1. The wins came too late in the season though and team Nameless still managed to take the League win. Congratulations to the Intramural Champions of the Volleyball League - Team Nameless!

Over 250 students came out to Late Nite IV at the Shannon Center on Friday night. The first 175 students to arrive at the event were given a free t-shirt. Many activities were going on all night including Guitar Hero, Chair Massages, Bean Bags, BINGO, Psychic Readings, Inflatable Jousting, Taking pictures in the Photo Booth, and basketball and volleyball in the main gym. Salsa and mambo dance lessons were given at midnight in the dance studio.

Students came out on the football field Tuesday night for a fun game of Ultimate Frisbee. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. The Cougars took the lead of the game early on and managed to hold the Cougars to only 5 goals. The newest played on the Cougars scored most of their goals and no one was able to stop her.

Two teams battled it out this week in Floor Hockey. The games were close, but the Orange Team managed to sweep the black team with 3 wins. Here are the game scores:

The Hockey League started off strong with two teams of students who came out to play. The teams played a total of 3 games - The Black Team won 2 games and the Orange team won 1 game. The night ended with a shoot out competition which was won by Kevin Crabtree. Kevin won a Gilhooley's gift card. We are expecting a good turnout next week when everyone returns from Easter Break.
SXU staff and students came over to Gilhooley's on Wednesday night and had a great time playing Spades. They enjoyed some of Gilhooley's appetizers while playing a competitive series of games. Congratulations to the winners, Chenyea and Brandy, who won Intramural Champion t-shirts as prizes.
All of the teams played in the playoffs for Week 4 of the league. Each team was matched based on their record for the first 3 weeks of the league. The playoffs were single elimination. There were a few close games and one that almost resulted in an upset for Team Dobikins. However, they managed to keep the lead in the last few moments of the game. Team Dobikins went on to play Res life Balla's for the Championship game. Res Life had the lead for the first five minutes of the first half until Team Dobikins caught up and took the lead. Res Life played tried to play catch up the rest of the game and never quite made it. Team Dobikins took the lead and kept it and won the championship game. Below are all of the game scores:

More than 60 SXU students came out on Wednesday night to bowl at Brunswick Zone. We had some high scores, among them the highest from Jeffrey Daniels who bowled 266. Other high scores came from Joe Branigan who bowled 182 and Edgar Daniels who bowled 173.

Three intense games of dodgeball were played on Thursday night between two teams - Big Green and the SXU Warriors. Big Green started out strong and won game one. SXU Warriors came back to win game two to make it a 1 to 1 tie. The third game was close but the SXU Warriors came out with the win. Congratulations SXU Warriors!

There was a large turnout for the Casino night that took place in the student lounge on Thursday night. Students played a variety of casino games, including poker, and slot machines. Thanks to everyone who came and congrats to everyone who won Intramural t-shirts as prizes!

This week, the teams played single-elimination games for the playoffs. Teams were given their place in the bracket based on their record for Weeks 1 - 3. There were a few upsets that kept the games exciting. The final game was played by the Scrubs and Boys and Girls Hall of Famers. Congratulations to the Scrubs who took 1st Place for the league and the Boys and Girls Hall of Famers who took 2nd Place. The Scrubs won Intramural Champion t-shirts as well as individual trophies for their prizes. The Boys and Girls Hall of Famers also won Intramural t-shirts for coming in 2nd Place.

Congratulations to the Softball League Champions: Team Domination! The Argyle Sox were not able to pull off a win in Week 4 to challenge Team Domination to a Week 5 game. The Argyle Sox tried to play catch up after Team Domination scored six runs in the third inning, but were not able to get the runs needed. It was a challenging game in the last few innings as both teams decided to play through the rain to the end of the game. We had a great time and everyone enjoyed pizza and soda for the last week's game.

The Argyle Sox made a comeback this week and beat Team Domination. The Argyle Sox were down 3 to 2 in the first inning but took the lead with five runs in the second and another three runs in the third. Team Domination only scored one run in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings and were unable to close the gap. The Argyle Sox now has one win and Team Domination has two wins. Next week will be a big game to see if Team Domination will take the league win or if we will continue to a week 5 championship game.
The Smokers and the Ram Rods came out to the football field last night to play Ultimate Frisbee. Both teams enjoyed playing under the stadium lights and played a good game. It was a close game but the Smokers managed to pull ahead and win by one point. The final score was:

The Argyle Sox started off strong in the first inning with a home run by Wally. Team Domination took over in the bottom of the first inning with six runs by Roy, Aarika, Tina, Natasha, Ryan and Mark. The Argyle Sox spent the rest of the game trying to catch up but only added one more run in the seventh inning. Team Domination took the first win of the league in Week 1.
More players are needed for each team, so if you are interested in playing, online registrations are still being accepted. Games will begin next week again at 6 p.m. on the Softball Field.
