Actors and Actresses
This page allows you to quickly search for movies by well known actors and actresses who are represented in the Library's movie collection. Check the catalog if you can't locate a specific person using the lists.
Faculty may borrow audio-visual materials for thirty days. Beginning February 1, 2008, students and staff can borrow VHS tapes and educational videos except where noted on the item. Please see the Borrowing page for details on borrowing and fines policies. can also be searched in the catalog.
The Library acquires films that support teaching, research and learning, and does not attempt to compete with video stores or public libraries. The four priorities for purchasing are:
- recommendations from faculty
- important films by major directors
- films in the Criterion Collection, which is a private company that distributes important foreign and US classics films, restored to their original look
- films on the National Film Registry, which are American films that are at least ten years old, "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant," and selected annually by the Librarian of Congress
