Department of Mathematics

The Department offers two degree programs in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. A major and minor are offered in both areas.

As an art and a science, mathematics occupies a special place in the Saint Xavier University curriculum. It serves as an investigative tool for the natural sciences, the social sciences, business, education and psychology.

Mathematics forms the bridge whereby the student enters the realm of abstract and precise scientific thinking.

In recognition of the importance of mathematics for all undergraduates, the Department offers courses that satisfy the university Core requirement in mathematics as well as courses which support other majors.
