Hi! I am Rabab Abbass Mahmoud, a Fulbright Scholar from Egypt. I am teaching the Arabic language and Arabic culture at Saint Xavier University and am a graduate student in the School of Education. I am delighted that I will be spending one academic year (August 15-June 10) at such a respectable university. I am a major in English and I have a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo. I also taught English as a foreign language there for five years. I taught 107 classes and was placed on the Honor Roll four times for excellence in teaching. In addition, I worked as an elementary school teacher for one year. I am so interested in societal and developmental programs. Thus, I am a member of the “Resala” organization for charities where I teach English as a foreign language for indigent students and students with special needs. I also participate in their program for eliminating illiteracy in Egypt, as well as many of their other charitable activities. For the next year, I plan to continue my studies in the United States to earn my master’s degree in education and specialize in teaching English as a foreign language.
