Saint Xavier University to host annual Homecoming and Reunion Weekend
Classes of 1965, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1995 and 2000 to celebrate milestone anniversaries
CHICAGO (August 31, 2005) –Saint Xavier University will host its annual Homecoming and Reunion Weekend at the school’s Chicago campus September 22-25. Events will begin Thursday evening and run through Sunday morning.
The university will host a rich array of events for students, faculty, alumni and friends. The weekend will kick off with a presentation entitled Identity Thieves & Business Fraudsters: Who are they and how do you stop them? William Kresse, SXU professor and director of Financial Fraud Examination and Management programs at the Graham School, and John Lucki, a sergeant in the Chicago police department’s Financial Crimes and Investigation Unit, will educate participants on the dangers of theft identity and how to prevent it.
Events will continue on Friday at noon with the Golden Graduate Society Mass and Tea where the graduating classes from the 49th and Cottage Grove campus will be honored. The festivities will continue Friday at 7 p.m. with a reunion dinner for the classes of ’65, ’75, ’80, ’85 and ’95 at the Shannon Athletic Center.
Saturday, Saint Xavier will play host to a wide variety of events including the 5th Annual Cougar 5K Run/Walk, athletic alumni games, an all campus picnic with games for children, class of 2000 tailgate party and the homecoming football game against Geneva College. The weekend will finish up on Sunday with an awards ceremony and farewell brunch honoring the distinguished achievements of several alumni.
