Saint Xavier University Drama Club presents Much Ado About Nothing
Drama Club's first production in over two years debuts Nov. 11 and runs through Nov. 14
Chicago (Nov. 2, 2005) –The Drama Club at Saint Xavier University will present performances of Shakespeare’s classic play Much Ado About Nothing on Nov. 11, 12 and 14, at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in McGuire Hall, located in the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St.
The comedy, directed by Saint Xavier students Lisa Lodico and Jennifer Grisolano, is set in Messina, Italy, during the 16th century. The play tells the story two sets of lovers, Claudio and Hero, played by Chris Corrie and Jennifer Nelson, and Benedick and Beatrice, played by Gary Johnson and Jessica Touhy, and the problems they encounter in their relationships.
Assistant director Grisolano is really looking forward to the three performances. “The actors and actresses are really dedicated to making this performance a success because it will be the first Drama Club production in over two years. We are all just really excited to be a part of it.”
The play is open to the public and tickets for the performances can be purchased at the door. Admission is $5 for the evening performances on Nov. 11, 12 and 14, and $3 for the matinee performance on Nov. 13. All proceeds from the Nov. 12 show will benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
