Saint Xavier University to host Flutes Unlimited! concert
9th annual holiday performance will feature four flute ensembles
Chicago (Nov. 22, 2005) –Saint Xavier University will host the 9th annual Flutes Unlimited! concert on Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St.
The concert, titled “Winter’s Gifts,” will feature members of Flutes Unlimited!, a local organization committed to providing quality performance opportunities and to exposing the performer and listener alike to the unique sound of the flute choir. The four ensembles that will be performing include Tout Suite, consisting of elementary and middle school performers, Symphonic, consisting of high school and adult flutists, Divisi, consisting solely of intermediate adult flutists, and Flutes Ltd., consisting of advanced and professional flutists.
The Flutes Unlimited! ensembles, co-founded by Saint Xavier Associate Professor of Music Martha Morris and directed by Jodi McLawhorn, Lisa Banos-Cruz and Julie Tendy, have performed at several functions and locations around Chicagoland including the Chicago Flute Fair, the Moraine Valley Performing Arts Center, Rockefeller Chapel and Navy Pier.
General admission for the performance is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children under 12. Admission is free for children under 3.
