Saint Xavier University Chamber Singers present holiday concert

Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah to be performed

Chicago (Nov. 18, 2005) – The Saint Xavier University Chamber Singers will perform Handel’s Messiah-A Sacred Oratorio at their holiday concert on Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St. 

The performance will feature the entire first portion of Messiah. In addition, audience members will be invited to join the choir in singing the “Hallelujah chorus” at the conclusion of the concert. 

The choir, directed by Dr. Jan Bickel and accompanied by keyboardist Daniel Surma, is composed of 17 Saint Xavier students, staff and alumni.

The concert is open to the public. General admission is $6, and senior and visiting student admission is $5. Admission is free for all Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff with an ID.
