Elementary and High School tutoring to be offered at Saint Xavier University’s Merwick Academy
Registration for all classes begins Jan. 9
Chicago (Dec. 2, 2005) –Saint Xavier University’s Merwick Academy has announced the dates for spring semester tutoring. Classes will begin the week of Jan. 23 and run through the week of April 10.
The academy will hold open registration for tutoring sessions Monday, Jan. 9, through Friday, Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Mount Greenwood, 11000 S. St. Louis Ave. Registration will be closed on Saturday.
Sessions will be offered Monday through Thursday at 3, 4 or 5 p.m. and Saturday at 9, 10 or 11 a.m. Classes will meet once a week for 12 weeks and will last for 1 hour. The classes are $175 per subject.
The academy offers elementary and middle school tutoring in several subjects including reading, math, language arts and writing, introductory French and Spanish and Catholic high school test preparation. High school tutoring is also available in history, literature, Spanish, French, biology, chemistry, geometry and algebra (I and II).
The Merwick Academy provides educational tutorial programs for elementary and secondary students of public, parochial, and private schools. Since its beginning in 1956, the program has supported students as they engage in the learning process.
The Merwick Academy has also worked with numerous administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents in structuring tutorial sessions so that the individual needs of the students are met.
