Enjoy the Musical Talents of Saint Xavier's Concert Band
Performance to be held at Beverly Arts Center
Chicago (Feb. 17, 2006) – Enjoy an evening of musical talents with the Saint Xavier University Concert Band under the direction of Erik Janners on Thursday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago.
The concert, titled “Of Sailors and Whales,” will include some new music as well as some concert band favorites. The feature piece is W. Frances McBeth’s “Of Sailors and Whales,” including narration performed by Laurence Musgrove, associate professor of English at Saint Xavier University. The program will also include the vivid and haunting memorial composition, “Heroes, Lost and Fallen,” by David Gillingham. The concert will provide an evening of excitement and variety for music lovers of all ages.
Admission to the concert is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for all Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff with a valid university ID. For additional information, contact the Saint Xavier University Music Department at (773) 298-3421.
