SXU students perform in Honors Recital

Nominated students selected to perform

Chicago (March 24, 2006) – Nominated music students from Saint Xavier University will perform at an Honors Recital on Thursday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m., in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

The concert will feature six students, who were selected by the Music Department. Saxophonist Michael Bielecki will perform “Scaramouche” by Darius Milhaud. Percussionist Justin Antos will perform “Two Mexican Dances” by Gordon Stout. Bassoonist Alexis Janners will perform “Concerto in F major, Op. 35” by C.M. Von Weber. Pianist Andrea Caruso will perform “Jardins sous la pluie (Gardens in the Rain)” by Claude Debussy. Pianist Aaron Solomon-Mills will perform “Liebstraum #3, A Love Dream” by Franz Liszt. Guitarist Jared Horne will perform “Jesu, Joy of Men’s Desiring” by J.S. Bach; “Gymnopedie #1” by Erik Satie; “Recuerdos De La, Al hambra” by Francisco Tarnega; and “Etude VI” by Leo Brouwer.

Admission to the concert is $6 for adults, and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for Saint Xavier University students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University Music Department at (773) 298-3421.
