Second part of exhibit featuring a variety of media

Chicago (April 27, 2006) – Saint Xavier University’s graduating art majors will showcase their artwork in the second part of the senior art exhibit “Colloidal Matter,” displaying a variety of media. The exhibit will run May 1-9, with an opening reception held on Saturday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The exhibit will be on display in the SXU Gallery, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

“The Senior Exhibit represents the most professional work done by students in the Art and Design Department, as it is the final event in the yearlong capstone called senior seminar,” said Brent Wall, associate professor of art and design at Saint Xavier University. “There is a wide variety of media in the exhibit, from traditional painting and photography to video and computer-generated design. Nothing is as exhilarating as seeing your own work hung in a professional setting for the first time.”

The show will feature the artwork of Rick Sprague of Willow Springs (video, music and animation); Ricky Warren of Evergreen Park (video); Kevin Gilboy of Oak Lawn (animation); Julie Loven of Chicago (sound, music and video); Heather Lea Healy of Evergreen Park (mixed media and photography); Jacki DiMaggio of Bloomingdale (painting and poetry); Jen Belmonte of Darien (graphic design and posters); Steve Wozniak of Burbank (painting); Jarrod Nowman of Manteno (magazine design); and Patricia Chavez of Burbank (painting and oil pastels, graphic design and posters).
