Cinema of the Americas film series continues at SXU
Chicago (Sept. 27, 2006) – Saint Xavier University’s annual film series will continue with a screening of Carlos Sorin’s 2002 film Historias Minimas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago. The screening is free and open to the public.
Set in the southern Argentinean region of Patagonia, Historias Minimas tells the story of three people who undertake seemingly mundane journeys that turn out to be subtly life changing. Antonio Benedictti plays a grizzly grandfather who hitchhikes to town to find his missing dog and seek forgiveness. Javiera Bravo plays a poor young mother who hopes to win the grand prize as a contestant on a TV game show. The three find what they set out for but in ways that they never expected.
