Saint Xavier University professor receives Fulbright Senior Specialist Award
Al Rosenbloom to lecture in Bulgaria
Chicago (Feb. 8, 2007) – Al Rosenbloom, associate professor of marketing in Saint Xavier University’s Graham School of Management, has been selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialist project in Bulgaria this spring.
Rosenbloom will be a Fulbright Senior Fellow at the Academy of Economics Dimitir Tsenov in Svishtov, Bulgaria. As part of his project, he will give lectures on advanced services marketing theory, conduct a faculty workshop on case writing and give three public lectures on marketing to the world’s poor.
Rosenbloom began teaching at Saint Xavier in fall 2006 and has been teaching in the Chicago area for more than 20 years. He previously received a Fulbright Scholar award in Nepal in 2000. He is interested in cross-cultural education and teaching.
“Receiving a Fulbright is a rewarding and humbling experience,” Rosenbloom said. “It creates an opportunity to share understanding across international borders. By teaching and talking with students in Bulgaria, I’m sure I’ll find that the things we have in common outweigh the things that we don’t.”
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The program complements the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program by providing short-term academic opportunities for U.S. faculty to support specific curricular and faculty development projects at universities around the world.
