Saint Xavier University hosts annual Job Fair

Students, community invited to attend March 26 event

Chicago (March 5, 2007) – Network with potential employers at Saint Xavier University’s annual Job Fair from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, March 26, in the University’s Shannon Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

The fair is free and open to students of all majors, as well as to members of the community and students from neighboring community colleges and universities. Numerous employers will be on hand recruiting for entry-level, professional-level positions and internships. “The SXU Job Fair is a great opportunity for our students, alumni and community. Last year we brought together more than 500 participants and 80 employers from various industries, including business, computer science, education, criminal justice and more. We expect to have the same success at this year’s SXU Job Fair,” said Mary D. Fitzpatrick, assistant director of employer relations in Saint Xavier University’s Counseling and Career Services.

Participating employers include AERO Special Education Cooperative; Applied Systems; Bensenville School District 2; CBS Radio (WBBM-AM, WBBM-FM, WCKG-FM, WUSN-FM, WSCR-AM, WJMK-FM); Chicago Bears Football Club; ChildServ; FedEx Ground; First Midwest Bank; Grand Prairie Services; Holy Cross Hospital; Illinois Department of Human Services; Illinois State Police; Marquette Bank; Mercy Volunteer Corps; Naperville Police Department; New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (Chicago office); Nobel Street Charter School; Northwestern Memorial Hospital; Palos Community Hospital; Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center; Providence Catholic High School; Resurrection Health Care; TCF Bank; Teddy Bear Day Care Services; The University of Chicago Hospitals; the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and the U.S. Air Force.

To prepare for the Job Fair, Saint Xavier’s Office of Counseling and Career Services has scheduled the following workshops that are open to the public:

• Résumé Writing and Job Searching for Entry-Level Positions: Monday, March 19, 3 p.m., L-321, Warde Academic Center
• Dress for Success: Wednesday, March 21, 2 p.m., L-103B, Warde Academic Center
• How to Work the Job Fair: Wednesday, March 21, 12 p.m., L-210; Thursday, March 22, 4 p.m., L-215; Monday March 26, 11 a.m., Shannon Center
