SXU Concert Band to perform with flutist Sergio Pallottelli April 26

Performance to be held at Beverly Arts Center

Chicago (April 12, 2007) – The Saint Xavier University Concert Band will perform a concert featuring flutist Sergio Pallottelli as a guest artist at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago.

Under the direction of Erik Janners, D.M.A., director of bands and professor of percussion at Saint Xavier University, the Concert Band incorporates a variety of music for all University wind and percussion performers. The program will include March from Symphonic Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith (arranged by Keith Wilson); After a Gentle Rain by Anthony Iannacone; Corpus Callosum by Thomas Duffy; Pageant for Band by Vincent Persichetti; and Aspen Jubilee by Ron Nelson. 

Pallottelli will perform the flute concerto Euterpe by Ferrer Ferran as well as the Neapolitan Serenade by Martin Ellerby with the Concert Band. He received his training at the Milan Conservatory, Italy, the University of Utah, and the Yale School of Music. 

The concert is open to the public. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for all Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff with a valid University ID.
