Saint Xavier University Flute Choir to perform Nov. 2
University and community flutist to perform
Chicago (Oct. 24, 2007) – Enjoy an afternoon of classical music with the Saint Xavier University Flute Choir at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, in the McDonough Chapel, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
Under the direction of Professor Martha Morris, the ensemble will perform music by Gary Schocker, Lewis A. Kocher, Matt Doran, Tchaikovsky and Josquin des Prez. Freshman flutist Kedgrick Pullums will debut his original composition for flute choir titled “Untethered” during the concert. The choir features a variety of University and community flutists playing a variety instruments, including C flutes, alto and bass flutes, and the E-flat soprano flute.
The concert is open to the public. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for all SXU students, faculty and staff with a valid University ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University music department at (773) 298-3421.
