SXU to host acoustic performance by alternative rock sensation We Are Scientists

Chicago (Oct. 29, 2008) Saint Xavier University students will receive a special Halloween treat this Friday, Oct. 31, when California alternative rockers We Are Scientists perform a free acoustic show at 2 p.m. in the Saint Xavier University student lounge, room L105. We Are Scientists formed while still in college in 2000. They have since released two full length albums: Safety, Fun, and Learning (In That Order) in 2002 and Brain Thrust Mastery in 2008, which debuted at number 11 on the UK charts.
Their music has been featured in the 2006 Winter Olympics and the soundtrack to the motion picture Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. The band has performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and in 2007 was nominated for Best International Band by NME, England’s equivalent to Rolling Stone. We Are Scientists are currently on tour with Kings of Leon.
