Marquee Policies

The University maintains a marquee on 103rd Street that is designated to publicize campus events and other relevant announcements.

The Office of University Relations will make every effort to publicize campus events in a timely manner. However, if there is a campus event that you would particularly like to appear on the Marquee, please send your request via e-mail to saintxaviertoday@sxu.edu or contact the Saint Xavier Today staff at x3369 if you have any questions.

Message Criteria

The event or announcement should be relevant to a broad audience or publicize a specific Saint Xavier event or program. For example: "Classes begin August 23. Register today!" Or "Homecoming Weekend September 28-30." Things that are not appropriate for the marquee include personal announcements such as births or retirements.

  • Please let us know the dates you’d like the announcement to begin and end.
  • Announcements can appear on the marquee serially and cycle through one at a time;

Tips and Guidelines

  • If you’re not certain whether something is "newsworthy" please call the Office of University Relations and we’ll help decide. Things that are newsworthy provide information to a broad audience, are timely, promote awareness of SXU in the community, and/or invite participation.
  • The message should be short. Remember, most people will be stopped at the traffic light or drive by and will only have a few seconds to see the marquee.
    We appreciate any and all information you send that will help us maintain the University’s visibility within the community.
