Saint Xavier University Senior Artwork Featued in 'Contour' Exhibit

SXU Gallery will host back-to-back art shows April 14-23 and April 28 - May 7

CHICAGO (April 1, 2004) - Saint Xavier University's graduating art majors will showcase their works in "Contour," a two-part exhibit featuring a range of media, from watercolor and ink, sculpture, photography and mixed media.

The first part of the "Contour" exhibit highlights works by seniors who have focused their work in studio production. This half runs from April 14 to 23, with an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 17. Students participating in the show are Phil Basile, of Manhattan, Ill. (video installation); Kevin Crabtree, of East Hazel Crest (oil painting/plexiglass); Melissa Ervanian, of Chicago (pencil drawings); Candi Helsel, of Chicago Heights (photography); Michelle Jantz, of Oak Lawn (watercolor/ink); Ben Koepke, of New Lenox (sculpture/furniture); Frank Loulousis, of Chicago (installation/assemblage/sculpture); Megan Martin, of Truckee, Calif. (acrylic painting/mixed media); K.T. O'Loughlin, of Chicago Ridge (installation); Jody Reno, of Chicago (pastel/ink); Linda Rinaldi, of Burbank (figurative drawing/mixed media) and Melissa E. Stein, of Blue Island (photography).

In its second half, "Contour" will feature the works of graduating seniors who have focused their work in design. This half runs from April 28 to May 7, with an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 1. Students participating in the show are Crystal Aguilera, of Chicago (sculpture/poetry);  Christina D'Oronzo, of Chicago (graphic design/multimedia); Anwar Hneiti, of Palos Hills (design and computer graphics); Akvile Kaminskyte, of Bridgeview (pastel drawings and computer graphics); Ruia Mohammad, of Palos Hills (graphic design and computer graphics); Arturo Olivares, of Chicago (graphic design); Lamia Samad, of Chicago (graphic design) and Tina Stark, of St. Charles (graphic design).
