CHICAGO (July 12, 2001) – Saint Xavier University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Linehan, R.S.M., and Dr. C. Carney Strange to a two-year term on its Board of Trustees.
Dr. Linehan is an associate professor and chair of the Philosophy Department at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where she teaches courses concentrating on moral philosophy, including medical and criminal justice ethics. She is also a published writer and has presented numerous papers on moral and ethical issues including euthanasia, suicide, abortion, and, most recently, the death penalty. Previously, Dr. Linehan held positions at Boston College and Spring Hill College in Alabama. She earned a Ph.D. and master’s degree in Philosophy from Fordham University in New York.
Dr. Strange is a professor in the Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is nationally known for his expertise in the area of student affairs and services and has chaired forty-six theses and dissertations in higher education and college student personnel. Dr. Strange has also held positions at Indiana University, University of Iowa, and Mt. St. Clare College in Iowa.
