CHICAGO (August 14, 2001) – Saint Xavier University’s Art Gallery will feature a multi-media exhibition by Barbara Wynn Bansley, entitled the perfect shade of BLUE, from Thursday, August 23 – Friday, September 14 at the University’s main campus, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago. A lecture by the artist and opening reception will take place on Wednesday, August 29 at 3:30 p.m.
Artist Barbara Wynn Bansley, who earned her MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College in 1997 at the age of 65, pays tribute to her beloved Beverly neighborhood. The exhibit displays a series of books made from handmade indigo-dyed paper. They feature the homes on Bansley’s block and the memories of the families who live in them.
