CHICAGO (September 1, 2000) - A leading national magazine has again ranked Saint Xavier University as one of the "Top Schools" and "Best Values" among regional universities in the Midwest.
U.S. News & World Report ranks Saint Xavier University in three categories among Midwestern Universities: Top Schools, Best Values, and Campus Diversity. The U.S. News rankings were released this morning and will be published in their "America's Best Colleges 2001" issue due on newsstands on Monday, September 4. U.S. News bases its regional university rankings on academic reputation, retention of students, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving. The value ranking relates the cost of attending a college or university to its quality.
According to the magazine, the Midwest category ranks universities located within 12 Midwestern states.
There was more good news for Saint Xavier this week. When classes began on Monday (August 28), Saint Xavier welcomed the largest freshman class in its 154-year history. Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is Chicago's oldest Catholic university.
