SXU's Homecoming 2001 Features 5K Run/Walk, Football

CHICAGO (September 18, 2001) – Saint Xavier University will hold Homecoming 2001 during the weekend of September 28 – 30. Weekend events will include the traditional Homecoming football game, reunion dinners for classes of ’51, ’61, and ’76, alumni Mass and awards ceremony, and the new Cougar 5K Run/Walk.

Saint Xavier’s inaugural 5K run/walk will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 9 a.m. “We are very excited about this event and adding a new tradition to Homecoming Weekend,” said Jenny Kjos, Fitness Coordinator at Saint Xavier University. “This is a great activity not only for our students and alumni, but for the entire community.”

Runners and walkers of all levels, ages 14 and up, can participate in this jaunt through nearby Evergreen Park. Registration continues through race day at 8:45 a.m. Participants will receive a t-shirt commemorating the event. The entry fee is $10. To register or for more information, please call 773-298-3778.
