CHICAGO (October 4, 2000)— Saint Xavier University’s 2000-2001 Xavier Classics at Noon Series will feature Piano Four Hands with Sonata Zuboviene and Rokas Zubovas on Friday, October 13 in McGuire Hall from 12 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.. Familiar to Xavier Classics at Noon audiences, this dynamic duo will perform works by Mozart, Debussy, Corigliano, Poulenc, and Satie.
Sonata Deveikyte-Zuboviene studied piano at the M. K. Ciurlionis School of Arts and at the Lithuanian Academy of Music. She has participated in a number of concerts and several competitions including the Maria Callas International Piano Competition in Athens, Greece and the CIEM International Competition in Geneva, Switzerland. Zuboviene won second prize at the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition in New York, and has performed throughout the United States including the Carnegie Recital, Bruno Walter Auditorium, Lincoln Centre and Donnel Library Hall. She has appeared as a soloist with the DePaul University Orchestra and North-East Orchestra in Chicago.
