CHICAGO (October 12, 2001) – Saint Xavier University, the Daily Southtown, and Star Newspapers will host Religion and War, a public forum addressing the ramifications of September 11. A panel of experts will discuss social justice, Christian ethics, and non-western religions in terms of the recent terrorist attacks. The forum will be on Tuesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. in the Formal Reception Room at Saint Xavier University, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
The academic panel will include members of Saint Xavier’s faculty and staff: Michael Bathgate, PhD, Professor of Religious Studies, Sister Susan M. Sanders, RSM, PhD, Director of the Center for Religion and Public Discourse and Associate Professor of History and Political Science, Kathleen Waller, PhD, Associate Professor Religious Studies, and Richard A. Yanikoski, PhD, University President. Newspaper publisher Larry A. Kelly will explain the rationale behind the panel series.
