Saint Xavier University Concert Band to Perform at Fall Series

CHICAGO (October 17, 2000) -- The first performance of Saint Xavier University’s Fall Concert Series will feature the Saint Xavier University Concert Band directed by Myron McReynolds on Sunday, October 29 in McGuire Hall at 3 p.m.

The University Concert Band will perform two transcriptions of orchestral works by American composer, Aaron Copland, marking the 100th anniversary of Copland’s birth. Special guest soloists will be Charles Finton, trumpet, and Erica Burtner Anderson, English Horn, performing on Copland’s Quiet City.

A donation of $6 is suggested for the general public and $5 for senior citizens. The performance is free for Saint Xavier students, faculty, and staff, as well as high school students. All proceeds collected from the Fall Concert Series will be used to fund scholarships.
