CHICAGO (October 29, 2001) -- Saint Xavier University student, Erin Cogan, has been awarded the student Laureate Award by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. A non-profit organization established in 1965, the Lincoln Academy honors individuals either born or residing in Illinois. The Student Laureate Award is granted to an outstanding senior from each four-year degree-granting institution of higher learning in Illinois. The award’s criteria are based on the student’s overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.
Erin Cogan currently resides in Oak Lawn and is a senior at Saint Xavier University. She enrolled in Saint Xavier University in August 1998 and has been on the Dean’s List each semester since her enrollment. She is also a Presidential Scholar and was the recipient of the Joanne Fleming-Warner Scholarship in 2001 from Saint Xavier University.
In addition to an exceptional academic record, Erin has also excelled in extracurricular activities. She is the President of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and serves as the Inter-Club Council representative for this organization.
