Real World Cast Member to Appear at Saint Xavier University

CHICAGO (November 2, 2001) – Matt Smith, from MTV’s series The Real World, will speak at “College in the Real World” on Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Saint Xavier University’s McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

A student at Georgia Tech, Smith will discuss the challenges for keeping your values while facing the temptations of college life. He appeared on the New Orleans season of the popular reality-series which places young adults in a house for six months and tapes their interaction.

Smith is the national spokesperson for LifeTeen National, the largest national youth group organization in the Catholic Church. LifeTeen is a comprehensive program designed to minister to high school teens of all faiths from a uniquely Catholic base. LifeTeen reaches out to teens on spiritual, emotional, and social levels, through three facets: parish services and programs, life communications, and camps.
