CHICAGO (Nov. 4, 2004) – A panel featuring three Saint Xavier professors will examine women’s under-representation in the science professions in a panel discussion to be held 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 in the Fourth Floor Board Room of the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St. The panel, sponsored by Saint Xavier’s Women and Gender Studies program will examine two issues: why the sciences have been represented as a “for-men-only” field; and why nursing is not considered a science.

Each panelist will offer brief remarks that touch upon their field’s approach to either of the two issues. The floor will then be opened to questions and discussion with the audience.
