Rebecca Fournier Named Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at Saint Xavier University

CHICAGO (November 29, 2000) – Saint Xavier University extends a warm welcome to Rebecca Fournier, who joins the university as its new Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.

"I am very pleased that Rebecca Fournier will be joining Saint Xavier University as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations," University President Dr. Richard A. Yanikoski said. "Rebecca is a delightful, energetic executive and we are fortunate to be welcoming her to Saint Xavier."

Fournier brings two decades of development experience to Saint Xavier. She was most recently the Chief Development Officer for the American Thoracic Society in New York. She also previously spent eleven years in higher education, including Washington University in Saint Louis and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

An award-winning public speaker and published writer, Fournier is one of only 22 individuals in North America designated as a Master Teacher by the National Society of Fundraising Executives. She received her master’s degree in organizational communication and leadership dynamics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications/ journalism from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She resides in Naperville, Illinois.

She is highly skilled in motivating and working with volunteers, trustees, and alumni. She will be a great asset to our Campaign team and to the future of Saint Xavier," said Mary Clare Loftus, university Trustee and Campaign Co-chair.

The Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations oversees the Offices of Alumni Relations, Development, Special Events, and Foundation and Government Relations.

Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is Chicago’s oldest Catholic university.
