CHICAGO (December 4, 2001) – CBS 2 News Political Editor Mike Flannery will be the guest speaker at Saint Xavier University’s 2002 Honors Program Lecture on Wednesday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Reception Room of the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
Michael Flannery has been the Political Editor for CBS 2 News since 1980. He is responsible for covering City Hall, Springfield and all elections. Before joining CBS 2 News he worked as a political and labor journalist for the Chicago Sun-Times. Flannery has won a number of awards for his work including two Emmys and the Best Reporter Award from the Associated Press. He is a native of Washington D.C. and graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in American government.
The Honors Program at Saint Xavier University offers an enriched academic experience to talented and highly motivated students. Honors students may pursue any undergraduate major in the university’s Schools of Arts & Sciences, Education, Management, and Nursing.
