Saint Xavier University provides three different meal plans for resident students. The following is a summary of Meal Plan #1, the most popular meal plan among our residents, and the required meal plan for residents of Regina and Pacelli Halls. The cost per individual is $1,592 per semester and is required for residence on campus. The following are highlights of this plan:
Our students are allowed to use their meal plan dollars to transfer to their meal plan transfer account. Each semester, a maximum of $300 can be transferred and used for purchases in the SXU Bookstore (excluding books), Subway at 10319 S. Pulaski, to do laundry in the residence halls, make copies on any copier on campus, print items in a computer lab, or purchase items from vending machines on campus until the last day of the semester.
Meal plan cards may be used at Cougar Pause, the snack bar in the Convocation and Athletic Center.Cougar Pause is open most days from 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., and is the perfect place for a mid-evening snack. Students can also uses their meal cards in the new Morris Hall Cyber Café, Cougar Bytes.Cougar Bytes is open convenient hours for those late night study groups and late night cravings; open from 11:00 a.m. - midnight daily. Coffee Cats, located outside of the Byrne Memorial Library in the Warde Academic Center is open from 11:00 a.m.- midnight where students can take a break for their studies and grab a bite to eat. Gilhooley's Grande Saloon will accept meal plan dollars for meals (excluding alcohol). Visit the Gilhooley's web site for hours and menu information.
Students should be aware that they deplete their accounts faster if they allow others to use their meal cards. We advise students to protect their meal cards.
Once again, the University does not reimburse students for unused meal plan balances at the end of the semester under any circumstances. So please budget your meals and plan to spend your entire balance.
