The Merwick Academy provides educational tutorial programs for elementary and secondary students of public, parochial, and private schools. Since its inception in 1956, the program has supported students as they engage in the learning process.
The Merwick Academy has worked with numerous administrators, teachers, counselors and parents in structuring tutorial sessions so that the individual needs of the students are met.
The tutors for the Merwick Academy come with various experiences. Many of them are currently teaching in public and private schools. The staff also includes current students from Saint Xavier's School of Education. Many of these tutors continue to work at the Merwick Academy after graduation.
