About CINE

The impetus for CINE was the recognition of changes in health care and nursing that mandate innovation in the ways nurses are educated. Such changes in nursing education cannot be made in isolation; they require the best thinking and practice of the entire nursing community.

CINE is designed to bring together nursing educators, students, and clinicians in the Chicago-land area to foster exploration, reflection, and dialogue on contemporary issues that influence nursing education. Engendering community is central to transforming nursing education as new models of enhancing community collaboration are developed and explored.

Activities of the Institute include meetings of the Partners Council, which consists of representatives from Chicago-area clinical agencies and schools of nursing; programs designed to highlight local issues; summer institutes that draw nationally and internationally acclaimed experts; and communication with the local, national, and international nursing communities via print and electronic methods.
