Continuing Education

Welcome to the Center for Nursing Scholarship and Chicago Institute for Nursing Education. Here you will find information about:

• Continuing education activities for registered nurses.
• Programs to assist foreign-educated nurses to become licensed in the state of Illinois.
• International CINE Summer Institute for nursings educators.
• Workshops covering various topics.

CPR Training:

American Heart Association, CPR Certification courses are offered through the Community Training Center.

Nurse Update Course:

This course is for Registered Professional Nurses preparing to re-enter nursing practice. Theory components of this course focus on discussing common adult medical and surgical issues seen by the nurse in general practice.

According to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, this course must contain a minimum of 48 hours of theory and 96 hours of clinical. The nurse must complete all hours in order to meet State requirements.

Cost: Fee of $1,800 and cost of textbooks
