Dual Admission Agreements

The RN-BSN Dual Admission program is a new partnership between local community colleges and Saint Xavier University designed to assist individuals who have previously earned, or are currently pursuing an associate in applied science (AAS) degree in nursing and desire to earn a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree at Saint Xavier’s Orland Park campus.  This exciting partnership helps individuals successfully transition from their AAS nursing program at the local community college to the baccalaureate program (RN-BSN), offered through the School of Nursing at Saint Xavier University.

  • Complete the nursing curriculum in as little as 18 months; all nursing courses are taught in eight-week blocks.
  • Take advantage of a smooth transfer of credits between institutions and guaranteed graduation requirements.
  • Begin the program while completing general education and support courses.
  • Benefit from specialized academic advising that meets the unique needs of nursing students and facilitates a smooth transition to SXU.
  • Receive 30 semester hours of advanced placement credit without additional testing
  • Design field work to meet individual student goals.
  • Learn from faculty members who are leaders, clinicians and scholars who blend extensive clinical experience with hands on training.

Students participating in the Dual Agreement Program and who successfully complete the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing with a cumulative grade point-average of at least 2.5 out of a possible 4.0 and have passed the NCLEX-RN exam will be fully admitted into Saint Xavier University’s RN-BSN option at SXU’s Orland Park Campus.
