Graduate Programs

As a vital force in the health care profession, nurses today are assuming greater responsibilities and more diverse roles in patient care. The graduate nursing program at Saint Xavier University prepares nurses to assume leadership and advanced practice roles in this challenging and rapidly changing health care environment.

Saint Xavier University School of Nursing’s graduate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the accrediting body of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

There are three specialized options for obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing Degree:

  1. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  2. Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL)
  3. MSN/MBA, a combined degree offered by the School of Nursing and the Graham School of Management.

Two post-graduate certificate programs are also available:

  1. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). This certificate enables a nurse who already has earned a master’s degree in nursing to become prepared as a family nurse practitioner. Please visit the Post Graduate Options page for details.
  2. Certificate in Nursing Education. This certificate provides an opportunity for nurses with a master’s degree in nursing or a related field to specialize in nursing education.
