Illinois State House Representative of the 36th District
Kelly Burke was elected state representative of the 36th District in November 2010. Kelly serves on numerous House committees, including: General Services Appropriations, Agriculture, Cities and Villages, Tollway Oversight, Financial Institutions, Health Care Licenses, and Telecommunications.
Prior to being elected Kelly worked at Saint Xavier University, where she was part of a team that raised funds for university programs and improvements, including campus renovations, student scholarship assistance, and services to the local community.
Prior to joining Saint Xavier University, Kelly practiced law for thirteen years, focusing on family and insurance law. She also was a law clerk to two Cook County Circuit Court judges and was a legislative aide to former State Representative Andrew McGann.
Kelly was elected to the Evergreen Park Public Library board in 2003 and re-elected in 2009; she served as President of the board from 2005 to 2010.
Kelly has volunteered in the community as a youth sports coach, school fundraiser, scout leader and founder of a Mock Trial program for junior high students.
Kelly received her B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana and graduated from the John Marshall Law School. She and her husband and their three children live in Evergreen Park.
