First-Year Kick Off Party

Join Saint Xavier's Barrier Breakers Organization for music by a DJ and dancing.

Friday, August 17

New Student Induction and Medallion Ceremony
11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Shannon Center

All new students are invited to join SXU Faculty and Staff at the Second Annual Induction Ceremony with luncheon to follow.  Students should arrive by 11:15 a.m. 

Get Lucky at Gilhooley’s!
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Gilhooley’s Grande Saloon

Put your poker face on and come to Gilhooley’s for casino games!  Sponsored by SXU Intramurals and Gilhooley’s Grande Saloon.  Prizes donated by the SXU Bookstore.

Trip to Navy Pier
5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - Regina Hall

Buses will be leaving from Regina Hall at 5:15 p.m.  Take a rip downtown and walk along Navy Pier and see its attractions.

Saturday, August 18

Get Your Books!
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Campus Bookstore

Get your textbooks.  Use the coupon you received during FOCUS for 20% off sportswear, gifts, or supplies.

Come find out more about how to manage your way through this thing called "college".  Sponsored by the Student Success Program, a federally funded TRIO program.

Adult Swim - No Limits
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Regina Hall

Come and test the waters with Campus Ministry as we dive into the new year together.  Meet other students, find out about great activities this year, and renew your journey to God.

Are you interested in using your Cougar Card for banking?  Then join TCF for an informational lunch.

Buses will be leaving from Regina Hall at 1:45 p.m.  In the words of Mayor Daley, “Millennium Park honors and builds on several proud Chicago traditions at once – beautiful architecture, landscaped and protected parklands, and the ongoing celebration of the arts".

Take a trip to the SXU Diner for breakfast with your R.A.  Don’t forget your Cougar Card!

Don’t get lost on the first day of classes!  Meet the H.O.T. members outside of Pacelli Hall and let them show you the way! Bring your class schedule.

Open Gym & Activities

Let’s get physical!  Get familiar with your friendly neighborhood workout facility, staff, and freshmen class, while enjoying a few hours in the weight room, fitness classes, or in the rec gym!

It’s dinner time!  Residents will be charged $5 from their meal plan, so don’t forget to bring your Cougar Card!
