The office of Advising and Educational Planning Services (AEPS) provides undergraduate academic counseling to traditional, continuing education, and School for Continuing and Professional Studies students and coordinates the University-wide advising effort.
The AEPS staff is also available to explain academic requirements, policies, and procedures, provide information on transfer credit and articulation agreements, and refer students to other University student services. Additionally, the AEPS processes changes of majors and advisors, maintains administrative responsibility for proficiency and placement examination programs, and coordinates yearly student recognition awards.
All on-campus, undergraduate SXU students are assigned a faculty or staff advisor who assists them in planning their course of study, selecting appropriate classes, and reaching their academic goals. While students with CLAWS accounts may register from any computer on the Internet, all students must obtain registration permission from their academic advisors prior to registering for Fall and Spring courses.
It is generally the student's responsibility to obtain his/her advisor information. While some advisors (including those in the AEPS) send letters to their advisees once a semester, others do not. You can always check with the AEPS if you are unsure of the name and office location of your advisor.
