Irene Claude is the adjunct flute instructor and flute choir director at Saint Xavier University. She also teaches at South Suburban College, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, St. Giles School in Oak Park and at her flute studio in Hyde Park.
Irene was a member of the Lake Forest Symphony from 1998-2020, and currently plays as a substitute musician with the New Philharmonic, Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and other regional orchestras and opera companies. She performs on the Music Teachers of Hyde Park Artist Recital Series, Saint Xavier University Faculty Recitals and South Suburban College Lecture Recital Series. She is also a Music Together teacher for Marsha's Music.
Irene has a Master of Music degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor in Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has completed Suzuki pedagogy studies, and training in Dalcroze, Music Together, Kodaly and Orff Schulwerk. She is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Chicago Flute Club, Music Teachers of Hyde Park, National Flute Association and Suzuki Association of the Americas.
