Clarinet and Saxophone



Lara Ochoa Regan, saxophonist and clarinetist, maintains an active schedule as a performer and teacher. She is an adjunct faculty member at Elmhurst College and Saint Xavier University and maintains a private studio at Marian Catholic High School. Lara has performed with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, New Philharmonic, DuPage Symphony Orchestra and Southwest Symphony Orchestra. She performs regularly with the SSC Jazz Orchestra and Tudor Winds (woodwind quintet) and is very involved as a woodwind doubler performing in pit orchestras throughout the Chicago area. She is also active in adjudicating and judging IMEA and solo and ensemble competitions as well as coaching woodwind sectionals and presenting master classes.

Regan holds a master of music degree in Saxophone Performance from Northwestern University and bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from Saint Xavier University where she studied saxophone and clarinet. Her primary saxophone teachers were Frederick Hemke, Leo Saguigit, and Jonah Brum, and her primary clarinet teachers were Lisa Canning, Sean McNeely, and Dean Sayre.
