Computer Science Undergraduate Programs

Saint Xavier University offers a variety of undergraduate programs concentrated around computer science and computer studies. Each program is designed to serve as preparation in business and/or technical industries. The Computer Science Department also offers a Five-Year Option where students can work towards a Master of Applied Computer Science degree while completing their Bachelor of Science degree.

Computer Science Major

The major in computer science is a classic generalist program enhanced by support courses in mathematics that works toward a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. The emphasis of study in this program is on problem-solving and computer science theory. Graduates of this program will be prepared for entry into graduate schools and for entry into a variety of positions in business and industry with a sound foundation for future advancement based on technical competence, liberal education and effective communication skills.

Computer Information Systems Major

The major in Computer Information Systems helps you develop the knowledge and skills you need to design, implement and manage technology. This application-oriented Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program prepares you for a variety of positions in business and industry with a sound foundation for future advancement based on technical competence, liberal education and effective communication skills.

Computer Science Minor

Students can also choose to take computer science as a minor. Students of this program will gain adequate knowledge of computer science and will be prepared for a variety positions, including business and the technical industry, after graduation.
