Jorge Arévalo
Project Manager for Accreditation, Assessment and Development

Jorge Arévalo joined the Education Department at Saint Xavier University in 2008. He is the project manager for Accreditation, Assessment and Development for the Education Department. He oversees the Unit Assessment System and accreditation and reporting efforts through data collection and continuous program improvements. In addition, he provides instructional assistance to both students and faculty in the use of LiveText, our electronic portfolio and assessment system.

Arévalo holds a Bachelor of Science in information systems engineering from the University of El Salvador (2005), an MBA from Southern Illinois University (2007) and Project Management certificate from Saint Xavier University (2009).

Jane Lundin
Director of School Partnerships

Jane Lundin has been a member of Saint Xavier University faculty/staff since August 2007. Prior to joining Saint Xavier University, she served as an administrator, teacher and curriculum facilitator in Orland School District 135. As director of school partnerships, Lundin ensures that effective partnerships and high-quality clinical practice are central to Education Department teacher preparation programs so that candidates develop the knowledge, skills and professional dispositions necessary to demonstrate positive impact on all P-12 students' learning and development.

Lundin has a Master of Science in Education from National Louis University (1980) and Education Administration Certification (Type 75) from Saint Xavier University (1994).

Joan Motisi
Assistant to Program Chairs and Faculty

Since joining SXU's Education Department in 2011, Joan Motisi has worked with students facilitating the education of graduate students in the Education Department for the Administration and Leadership, Counseling, Early Childhood, Educational Technology/iSTEM, Reading, and Teaching and Leadership programs. Once a graduate student is admitted to one of the above-referenced graduate programs, she completes the admission process and appropriate coding for financial and academic data processing. She also assists the program chairs in overseeing the progression of graduate students through the master's degree requirements. Motisi also supports faculty with offices in Driehaus East, manages the STEM and 3919 Classrooms schedule and materials and assists in maintaining the graduate student database for the Education Department.

Motisi has a Bachelor of Arts from Roosevelt University and has completed graduate coursework in instructional design and technology from Western Illinois University.

Lydia O'Grady
Coordinator-Field Experiences

Lydia O'Grady joined Saint Xavier University as a part-time secretary in the Education Department in 2006. She enjoys her current full-time position as the Education Department's coordinator of field experiences, working with CPS and area schools to secure field experience placements for teacher candidates and student teachers.

Debbie Strubin
Administrative Assistant for the Undergraduate and Graduate Education Programs

Debbie Strubin started with SXU's Education Department in July 2004 as a secretary for the Counseling Program. In May 2011, she started a new position as the assistant to the associate dean, program chairs and faculty. Strubin enjoys interacting with students, so she is looking forward to her new position as administrative assistant for the undergraduate and graduate education programs, which will involve guiding and supporting SXU's Education Department undergraduate and graduate students throughout their programs. Other responsibilities include maintaining current student and alumni records, assisting with tracking conditional and probationary status candidates and assisting with graduation audits.
