SONHS Graduate Programs
As a vital force in the health care profession, nurses and speech-language pathologists are assuming greater responsibilities and more diverse roles in patient care. The graduate SON and HS programs at Saint Xavier University prepare nurses and speech-language pathologists to assume leadership and advanced practice roles in this challenging and rapidly changing health care environment.
The Master of Science in Nursing includes tracks in a Clinical Leadership (Online), Executive Leadership (Online), Nurse Educator (Online), and Family Nurse Practitioner (online and hybrid). The Special Entry Option (SEO) allows certain registered nurses who have earned baccalaureate degrees in areas other than nursing to work toward a master's degree in nursing without completing the nursing baccalaureate. The MSN/MBA Dual Degree allows you to complete two degree concurrently. The Post-Master's Options include certificate programs in Clinical Leader, FNP, and Nursing Education. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree program in nursing at Saint Xavier University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Department has a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology that offers students a program of academic and clinical preparation that meets the requirements of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, the requirements for Illinois State Licensure to practice as a speech-language pathologist, and the requirements for a Professional Educator License endorsed in Speech-Language Pathology Non-Teaching to work as a speech-language pathologist in Illinois public schools.
