Individuals with an undergraduate degree in accounting can complete their M.S. in Accounting in one year. For those with an undergraduate degree in some other area, we offer a two-year program that provides both a Certificate in Accounting and the M.S. in Accounting.
In addition to preparing our students to excel in their careers, the GSM M.S. in Accounting, combined with an undergraduate degree, satisfies Illinois's 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam. Our wide-selection of fraud related courses also prepares students to sit for the Certified Fraud Examiner exam.
Our small class sizes allow you to work closely with faculty, learning technical and demanding accounting topics. Combined with our online course, our 8-week hybrid courses are offered evenings and weekends, which is ideal for students who work full time while advancing their professional skills and credentials.

M.S. in Accounting 4-Plus-1
If you are completing your BBA in accounting and have your sights set on becoming a certified public accountant (CPA), there is no more direct route to the exam than the 4-plus-1 approach. You can earn your M.S. in Accounting and be ready to sit for the CPA exam following your undergrad degree. Students completing their undergraduate degree at SXU are automatically accepted into the program if they meet certain criteria.
