Excelsior College Exams ®

Formerly Regents/ACT-PEP, Excelsior is a standardized credit-by-exam program affiliated with the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Saint Xavier University accepts selected Excelsior College Exams® to fulfill certain courses required in the RN to BSN program. The exams are approximately three hours in length and are administered at Prometric Testing Centers (formerly Sylvan). The exams are in a computer-based testing format, and the results are made immediately available. Not all Excelsior Exams are accepted at Saint Xavier University. Students should check with their advisor prior to taking an exam.

The following Excelsior Exams are available to SXU's RN to BSN students:

  • Life Span Developmental Psychology (Psychology 199; 3 credit hours)
  • Abnormal Psychology (Psychology 204; 3 credit hours)

The passing score for these exams is a C.

The following business Excelsior Exams are available for other SXU students:

  • Labor Relations (Business 360; 3 credit hours)
  • Human Resource Management (Business 410; 3 credit hours)
