January Term at SXU
Undergraduate students now have the opportunity to take a class or two during the winter to continue on the path to completing their studies with January Term. A limited number of required undergraduate courses will be available, so register early to ensure you get the classes you need!
Current and Admitted Students
View Course Offerings: Log in to the mySXU portal to see a list of courses with specific dates and times. To do so:
- Go to "Registration" and then "Search for Sections" on the Self-Service menu.
- Select the "January 2022" term, along with two other fields, and submit your search.
Register for Classes: Admitted students do not need their advisor's approval to register for January Term but should check with their advisor regarding appropriate course options.
Saint Xavier University welcomes all visiting students as well as new students to take January Term courses with us to get ahead in their studies!
View Course Offerings: If you are not admitted into SXU but wish to enroll in courses, you can do so by accessing the Search for Courses and Course Sections page.
Register for Classes: After you've selected what courses you want to take, fill out our online registration form.

January Term is a new opportunity at SXU to help undergraduate students take the courses they need to catch up on or get ahead in their education. January Term is composed of required courses students need to complete their education and is offered as accelerated coursework during the winter season. It's an opportunity to be one (or two) courses closer to graduation!
January Term classes will run from December 13, 2021, through January 7, 2022. No classes will be held on the following holiday observances:
- Christmas Eve - Friday, December 24, 2021
- Christmas Day (observed) - Monday, December 27, 2021
- Staff Appreciation Day - Friday, December 31, 2021
- New Year's Day (observed) - Monday, January 3, 2022
The undergraduate tuition rate is $525 per credit hour.
Classes will be held in person and online.
There will be a $15 academic fee for the January Term, in addition to any course fees associated with your classes.

Unfortunately, Title IV funds cannot be used toward January Term courses.
You can get a full refund within three calendar days of the class start date.
Failure to attend a class will not result in a refund. It is the student's responsibility to take the necessary action to withdraw from class.
No, residence halls and the SXU Diner will not be open throughout the winter to January Term students.
