120 credit hours are required for B.A. degree in English. English majors may choose from Rhetoric and Writing or a Global Literature Concentration. Students should use Academic Planning to schedule courses and track degree progress. Detailed course information can be found in the academic catalog.

Rhetoric and Writing Concentration: *200-level requirement: One British, American or World Literature (or combination) **300-level requirement: One Rhetoric or Literature elective.

Global Literature Concentration: *200-level requirements: Choose one British or American Literature (or combination); One World Literature elective. **300-level requirements: One British or American Literature (or combination); One World Literature; Three electives at the 300-level, i.e. British, World, American, Rhetoric or Theory. (One 200-level course may be accepted).

Minors

English Minors must complete 18 credit hours including ENGL 207: The Study of Literature and an additional 15 credit hours of ENGL courses in consultation with the department chair.

English Writing Minor must complete 18 credit hours including ENGL 220: Advanced Writing and an additional 15 credit hours from the list of approved electives, with no more than 6 credit hours from the Communication Department. Refer to catalog for approved electives.
